Shep on CNN Date: 06-18-2008 By: dgants	I was watching the CNN coverage of the Indiana Primary last month as one of the network reporters dissected a large digital map of the state. During one observation, he noted that the northern population of the state differed significantly from the southern. He then drew a horizontal line through the middle of the map, calling it "the Jean Shepherd-Bobby Knight line." Nice to now there is at least one Shep fan in cable land!	3

06-18-2008 ( Reply#: 2063 )	svea3	[8D] Good one. In Michigan we have the E/W line, MSU v UM I am a Westie living in the East. Indiana is sort of Purdue/ U Indiana line. For those of you that know Judy Bogan [married name Salomon] 1961 OP Morton, she had a one woman Art Show in Akron Women's Club of her recent paintings in the month of June. The party was last Friday. She graduated from Bowling Green State University and her MFA was from New York. She painted in Rome and Paris while teaching Art in Shaker Heights and Cleveland Heights for 30 years. She taught mainly ceramics. Mr Wauro would be so proud. Judy and I were in his Art Club and painted the Windows at Woodmar Shopping Center. Are there any members of that group here? Judy was Secretary of the Classs 1961. Her parents lived on Alexander- 1 block from 173rd. Linda OPM '60

Asking me how I knew Judy, I replied that we came from Hessville Indiana close to Chicago and the hometown of Jean Shepherd the writer of "CHristmas Story". Once again, it is one person at a time! "Oh, you are from Cleveland." "No we are from Hammond Indiana. Jean Shepherd lived on Cleveland Street." "No he came from Cleveland. They filmed it here. I have been the house. And they used the Higbie Parade." said the man. "Yes the house that they used for the movie was from Cleveland Ohio and the parade they used from the Higbie's. BUT that was the movie! "said me "Oh I get it, Jean Shepherd was telling the story in the movie." said he "No that was an actor' voice" "We are from Chicagoland and so was Jean Shepherd." I said strongly. "But the house is here in Ohio" "Right and Christmas Story was a book written by Jean Shepherd while he was a DJ in New York City. The story he wrote was true, because my relatives' stories are in the book." replied me. "So , I get it now he wrote a book about Cleveland Ohio and they made a movie about it." said the man.
