Hi All,
I lived in Illinois growing up, and I seem to remember Jean Shepherd on tv. I'm thinking it was just stories, and I think he was sitting next to a barn or something. Am I crazy?

No, you remember right. Other than some local TV appearances, like on kiddie shows, Shep made some series for PBS, and Mr Schmid offers some of them on DVD..There were something like 3 seasons worth of shows, and most seem to be "lost"
Boston PBS has never responded to any of my requests for info on how to obtain the rights/release for any of the programs, and I must wonder whose cereal at PBS Shep might have "peed in"[:D]
Mr Clavin, Bergmann, or Schmid may be able to offer further, but I have been very proactive in trying to get those programs re-aired.
I have never been a liberal to just "lay back and let it happen", and since at the time, PBS was still public supported media, I can't help but feel the public has say in the matter, and not just some bureacrat in the back room of his career.
