I don't, but Directv carries a channel called the gameshow channel and "I've got a secret" is one of the programs they play old re-runs of, (in case you have a Tivo, etc..)[?]

Ultra-trivial trivia question:
WHAT distinction do Henry Morgan and Jean Shepherd have in common, BESIDES both being comedians who appeared on "I've Got a Secret"?
...
...
Give up??
Answer: They BOTH wrote articles for (and were named on the cover of) that celebrated journal (even more profound than the Johnson Smith & Co. catalog), Mad magazine, in 1957:
Jean Shepherd's "The Night People versus Creeping Meatballism," in issue # 32 (April), and
Henry Morgan's "The Truth about Cowboys," in issue # 33 (June).
If (unlike me) you don't own both issues, you may take a peek at:

In the army, it was referred to as "NCO material".[8D]

I do have a TiVo, with a "JEAN SHEPHERD*" keyword Wishlist. (In English, any show that mentions anything starting with Shep's name, in any part of the show description, will be recorded.) Unfortunately, "I've Got A Secret" doesn't list their contestant names, so I'll just record them, check out the guests, and hope for the best. |

I've been trying to locate a copy for years. I saw it several years ago on the Game Show Network, but was not home at the time to record it. They had a later anniversary show which showed a portion of it. I've been in touch with GSN to find out about future airdates. They confirmed the original air date as August 31, 1960 and the 9th anniversary show on June 21, 1961. They claim that they only have the anniversary show in their archives, but I know that I saw the full show as well as the anniversary show. They would not commit to air dates saying the schedules do not go that far in advance. A Brass Figlagee to anyone who can tell what his 'secret' was. Hint: Use your head to figure it out.

Bad news, I fear...
This thread on the GSN forums suggests that the classic "I've Got A Secret" show has been replaced in the schedule by an updated remake.
I've send my request via programming@gsn.com to reinstate the show. Fans here might want to do the same. |

I grew up reading MAD. I still remember some of the song paradies. If you like MAD ther is a CD ROM "TOTALLY MAD". This CD ROM has MAD from the first isssue to 1999. it has all the covers, the whole magazine and even the old fold back on the back cover, worth the money just for the memories but also for the comedy of the times. A look intothe past

Yes. I believe the manufacturer discontinued "Totally Mad" several years ago, but you may still be able to find a copy. My copy runs on Windows XP Home Edition only if I choose Windows 98 compatibility mode.

Regarding the Totally MAD CD-ROM, there are a couple of things (covers, cartoons, stories) that aren't included with the disc. Most notably, "Creeping Meatballism" is NOT included. Imagine my dismay at finding out Shep's one and only MAD contribution was gone!
Here's a link to show what got cut and perhaps why:

I know someone who claims to have it on tape. I see her once a year, and I ask her about it every time. So far, she has not dug it out. Maybe this October... |

Regarding a video copy of the I'VE GOT A SECRET show with Shep as a guest:
<I know someone who claims to have it on tape. I see her once a year, and I ask her about it every time. So far, she has not dug it out. Maybe this October...>
Tell her I'll send her a personal check for fifty dollars for a good copy.
