I was told that this book is basically a compendium all the articles that he did for "Road and Track" magazine..
being a car nut...I'm sure it's worth the read!

It was Car and Driver magazine. Yes the book was a collection of those articles.

Shep maintained that the title reflected his observation that sex was becoming a competition sport and some day we might see arena sex competitions staged like Olympic events with judges and awards given to the best performers.
Hence the macho race car in the place of sex.
