1940 Census Date: 04-06-2012 By: S C Jones	Have you guys perused the 1940 Census that is online now? see it at 1940 Census National Archives-- It is a bit wacky, but I found my parents and several neighbors all who lived at different addresses than when I knew them..... Check it out. I found the Artims of trucking fame, the Ferris' of Standard Oil Station on Kennedy & 169th fame.....Lots of Luchenes, Dedelows, Loshes..... Ken, you may be able to find Judy's family.	4

04-08-2012 ( Reply#: 8349 )	Roger D	I checked out the 1940 census for my county here in Ky. I found where my grandfather filled it out, my dad was 15 at the time. I found other reletives also. It took a long time because of my dial up service. We can't get high speed here unless you go Hughes Net. I can't afford $70.00 plus per month. Hopefully we will be able to get Bell South high speed soon. Do check out the census for 1940, very interesting!

Do check out the census for 1940, very interesting! Yes, even with "high speed" the search is not easy. I have found some of my Eastern Kentucky family, but have to work more on place for some of them. It is interesting to read the occupations in different areas and the amount of income (if any) they were able to live on--speaks to our loss of food production as a daily chore and the comparative independence that "chore" gave us.
