Jacks Carry Out Date: 02-23-2009 By: Gavitgal	Anyone remember? Hessville on Kennedy Ave. Still there under new owners. My aunt & uncle owned it for years. Mom worked there on Friday nights when Catholics used to not eat meat on Friday, he was so busy cooking his shrimp & fish. Sadly uncle Jack passed away last year.	5

I remember walking past his little place on the corner of Kennedy Ave. and Vine St. many times on the way to school at MHS. At that time, his building was the only one between Vine and 165th Street on that side of Kennedy. Here is a link to a picture of the store directly out of the 1962 Morton High School Top Hat. We have other Morton grads, a Hammond High grad or two, I believe one or more from Bishop Noll, and at least one from East Chicago hanging around on this forum. Stick around so we can have one from Gavit. Now all we need is one from GRC. Then all the schools in Hammond will be represented. Ken O'Neal
