Mike:
OK, you need to have your picture uploaded somewhere on the Internet, like Photobucket.com , for example.
It needs to be in the proper size that you want it to be in your signature. I believe my sig picture is 127x160 pixels, to give you an idea about what size to make yours.
Do you have photo editing software to make the picture the size that you want? If not, you can email me the picture, and I can size it for you. I am set up to receive messages from this site.
Once you have your picture in the size you want and have it hosted somewhere on the Internet, then you are good to go. The picture will have a URL, which is a uniform resource locator, or, basically, just the address where your picture is located on the Internet. Think of it as being comparable to your home mailing address.
When you make your picture show up in your signature by directly linking to it, the picture is really still physically located at the host website, but it appears as if it is in your signature.
To make it show up, type the following WITHOUT the spaces.
[ i m g ] URL [ / i m g ]
Let me know if I can be of any further help, Mike.
