I have deleted my post of April 14 on censorship, but not my original post of April 13 announcing the rally at Blue Top(whom I salute for their patriotism and love of freedom).

I saw that on "Planet Hammond" or "If You Grew Up in Hammond; I can't remember which.

It is truly sad! One of the very, very few things left from our youth is gone.

Hi, all;

I was active here a couple of years ago. Been putting together artwork for a possible fund-raising calendar ( for whom I'm not sure). I'm re-creating the look of the late Sixties' drive-ins, mostly prompted by the discussions back then. So far, I have Dog N Suds, two DQs, a Frost Top and one dear to us all - Blue Top. (BTW, when was the lower, yellow sign added?)

It's tough finding the owners of these old photos for reproduction rights. I like the 1967 postcard. It would make a great new work, even though it's wonderful by itself. The problem with the original is the resolution. Blowing it up would do little good. Since it was screened for the original postcards, perhaps the original photo could be found with Mr. Johnsen's help?

Then, most photos are just not dynamic or balanced enough, and need to be enhanced with addition digital work. Lots of conjecture too when you're trying to add-in parts from memory.

Anyway, before sleep sets in with all you reading this, I hope to have some input from posters here about my idea. I doubt it would sell Blue Top to a new restorer-owner, but who knows.

Thanks

Thanks, LS.

I got the good news on Planet Hammond on Facebook. It sounds like the opening was a HUGE success.
