Some time back in the 60's, there was a recording of a high school band played on the radio that became a hit. It was the worst recording of a song imaginable, off key, missed notes, bad timing and such. Yet it went on to become a hit. I think it may have been a Melrose Park marching band or something. Does anyone remember this? Or the name of the song? I don't. I have the tune haunting me, but I can't remember the name of it.
I have a feeling Ken O'Neal will come up with the answer to this one...Cj

Sorry seejay and others, I'm not able to help with this one. It must have happened after I was a young married man who was out in the working world albeit in the service of our dear Uncle Sam.

I also apologize for not responding earlier, but I spent the biggest part of the month of October enjoying my stays in the cardiology and pulmonary wards at a local hospital.

"THIS IS IT" was mention some time back, don't remember when or where. While in 'Da Region' last week we stopped by there. the stores are still in business and look better than ever.

Really, Roger? THIS IS IT in Black Oak is still in business? Wow. but, it may have
been something of a forerunner in bargain/used/wreckage/salvaged goods. One of the Goodwill stores here has a salvage store where the merchandise is just piled in bins and you have to pick through it--then of course they have the regular stores that are more orderly.

What ever This Is It didn't have (if anything) could probably have been found at Fetla's in Valpo. Fetla's is no longer in business though...Cj
